About
About IGDownload
IGDownload is a small, independent tool for saving Reels, videos, photos, covers, and MP3 audio from public Instagram posts. This page explains how it works, what its limits are, and how to reach the operator.
Overview
What IGDownload is
IGDownload.cloud is a free web tool for saving public Instagram content that you own or have permission to keep. It is run by an independent operator and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.
There are no accounts, no subscriptions, and no apps or browser extensions to install.
How it works
From link to file
When you paste a link, the server checks that it points to a single public Instagram post, asks Instagram for the details a logged-out visitor could see, and shows a preview card with the formats it can deliver. The link is sent to Instagram, directly or through a relay operated by the site owner, only to look up media.
When you press a download button, the server fetches the media from Instagram and streams it to your browser. MP3 is converted while the file downloads. Any temporary file lives in a private directory and is deleted as soon as the transfer ends. Raw IPs and URLs are never logged.
Limits
What IGDownload will not do
- Offer MP4 above 1080p or in codecs other than H.264.
- Accept videos longer than 60 minutes.
- Deliver files larger than 500 MiB.
- Download private accounts, Stories, Highlights, live videos, or posts that need a login, or ask for an Instagram login.
- Keep copies of downloaded files or a history of your downloads.
Fair use
Your responsibility
Only download content you own, have permission to save, or that is licensed for reuse. Instagram's Terms of Use restrict reusing content without permission. The Terms of Use explain acceptable use in full.
Privacy
Privacy in short
There are no accounts and no Instagram login. Raw IPs and URLs are never logged. Request logs hold only hashed identifiers. Temporary files are deleted after each download. Page views and site interactions are measured with Google Analytics. The Privacy Policy explains what is processed and for how long.
